Following a later than normal wake-up call and then breakfast, we were taken to the center of Dunedin for some free-time at The Octagon in the center of town. Josh and I spent time in a coffee shop utilizing the internet. We drove through the huge paddocks of dairy cattle, sheep, and deer. Some farmers used irrigation to keep the paddocks green. As we changed elevation, other areas did not need the irrigation because of the sufficient rainfall. We arrived at another Kingsgate Hotel in Te Anau for our night’s accommodations. Te Anau is located on Lake Te Anau which is the largest lake on the South Island and was gouged out by a huge glacier. We have discussed at dinner this evening how delightful our meals have been. In most of the hotels, the provided meals are served on a buffet and each one, though a bit different, has been very good.
